Question 1

How long is the drive from Sharm El-Sheikh to Dahab?

Accepted Answer

The drive from Sharm El-Sheikh to Dahab takes approximately 1 hour 20 minutes by private car. The route follows the stunning Gulf of Aqaba coastal highway before climbing into the rugged Sinai mountains for the final stretch into Dahab town. Traffic is rarely an issue on this road.

Question 2

Is it better to take a private taxi or a shared bus to Dahab?

Accepted Answer

A private taxi is far more comfortable, reliable, and often only marginally more expensive per person when shared with 2–4 people. Shared minibuses to Dahab can take 2–3 hours with multiple stops, depart only when full, and drop you at a central point rather than your guesthouse door. With Sharm Taxi, you go direct at a time that suits you.

Can I do a day trip to Dahab from Sharm and come back the same day?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Question 4

What is the Blue Hole in Dahab?

Accepted Answer

The Blue Hole is a famous underwater sinkhole on the Red Sea coast, approximately 10 km north of Dahab town. It's one of the world's most iconic freediving and scuba diving sites — an 87-metre deep circular shaft ringed by coral and marine life. It's also a beautiful snorkelling spot even for non-divers, with crystal-clear water and vivid reef fish.
